More Smoothie Recipes!

Hello! My name is Christina, welcome!

If you are looking for info on doing a Daniel fast, on the right hand side of this page you'll see a link for 'what to eat on a partial fast'. Click on that, OR simply scroll down to view it.

Figgy-licious
Okay I've saved the best for first. Figs are coming into season and I had to include a fig recipe since it's the name of this blog! Actually I rarely eat figs in smoothies. Somehow they just disappear before I even get home from the store. It is challenging for me to put them all in a blender when they are so amazing on their own. So if you can resist the temptation of eating them whole, this is a gorgeous smoothie. Enjoy!

4-6 ripe black mission figs, stem removed
2-4 ripe frozen bananas, chopped
water

Blend till smooth. Savor every bit.

Blue Cream

8 halawi or 4 medjool dates
10 oz blueberries, frozen
2 fresh ripe bananas
1/16th of a vanilla bean (scrape the black beans from the center)

Blend and devour!

Sangria Zurra
Virgin, of course. An untraditional Spanish Sangria, made with peaches or nectarines.
Freeze strawberries and peaches and use instead of ice for serving. Beautiful presented in a punch bowl.

2 1/2 cups freshly pressed apple juice, or orange juice
1/2 cup fresh ripe peaches or nectarines, sliced thin
1/2 cup fresh strawberries, sliced thin
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/2 lime, juiced
1 cup pure water
Optional: 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Mix ingredients gently. Place mixture in refrigerator for a few hours so all the flavors
can dance together. Garnish with thinly sliced strawberries and peaches.

How to make banana ice cream, and how to freeze bananas:
Wait until bananas have brown sugar spots on them, then peel and freeze in a ziplock bag, usually at least 10 hours depending on how many in the bag. Remove from freezer, chop and blend in food processor or high powered blender with 1 fresh ripe(meaning with brown sugar spots) banana, some cinnamon or a few strawberries for a delicious frozen soft serve ice cream!! SOooo good!
